Wetland train   Startled by the sudden rush of my train as I pass wild ducks reviving on drowned paddocks en route to Asia Minor   Take wing and flee north peeling off and away while mirrored in wetlands beneath them their kindred fly south for their winter.   At the pivot of its universe on a floating log island, in its pond a solitary duck ruffles feathers and settles Bobbing rings of dark water that go out from its centre to smooth the wide world   Ahhhh …   William Carney
