10/8/1973 A thumb out for ancestry I have my thumb out on the North German Plain, and I am heading for Denmark in the belief I know why. Some inward orientation of my being needs to be in western Norway, land of sheer mountains and profound, intimate fjords that one thousand and ninety-nine years ago (874 AD) sent its people to settle the place from which I derive half my lineage.
