computer system oldThree days ago, Quadrant Online’s ancient, steam-powered publishing system (above) went wobbly, gave up the ghost and began advising commenters that their thoughts and reactions to our articles were being blocked by “error in line 71” which was stopping “object” appearing in “array” or somesuch techno-gobble. The good news is that Dan the Dot-Squiggler, who understands these things, appears to have found the problem and fixed it.

Once again comments are open to subscribers.

If you would like to join our threads, follow the link below and become a Quadrant subscriber. Few things are as tiresome as the sound of a cup being rattled, but now that the Australia Council has cut us off without a cent it is only subscriptions and readers’ generosity that can sustain Quadrant.

Enough subscribers and, one fine day, we might be able to afford a new online publishing system that does not inspire near-daily outbursts of salty language on the part of this site’s editor and our readers.

Oh, what a happy day that will be.
