Rubbery Figures for Carbon SIR: The lying sods say on page 5 of their recently-delivered brochure that by 2020 they will reduce Australia’s carbon emissions, compared with 2000’s, by 5 per cent. On page 6 they say that by 2020 they will be removing 160 million tonnes out of the air each year. Professor Garnaut, in Section 8.1 of his report, states that in 2005 our emissions were 559 million tonnes, and we have consistently been told that our output has been increasing since 2000, not reducing.
